Description

Law Center for Better Housing will present on Renter’s Rights under the Chicago Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance and state laws, as well as eviction prevention strategies based on recent changes to the eviction process in Cook County. The presentation will include discussion of additional protections under the rules of subsidized housing programs.

Michelle Gilbert is the Legal and Policy Director at the Law Center for Better Housing, having 33 years’ experience in legal aid.  She has been heading up LCBH’s participation in the City of Chicago Right to Eviction Counsel Pilot Project.

Terra Wilhelm is a staff attorney at the Law Center for Better Housing. She provides legal advice and services for tenants in the Early Resolution Program and defends tenants in court from evictions and bad conditions as part of the Right to Counsel Project.
