Join Red Line Service, Jane Addams Hull House Museum and artist Melissa H. Potter on Sundays, September 7, 14, and 21, for a three-part workshop to create handmade paper from recycled and found materials and print on it using plants gathered from the streets of Chicagoland. Through this process of reuse and upcycling common weeds and so-called invasive species, this project invites participants to explore our urban environment as artistic material and inspiration.
Class II: Using fresh, foraged plant materials, participants will create monoprints on Gelli
plates.
Join us for a meal from 12:30-1pm and art making from 1-4pm. As is our custom, we will
provide train fare to people with lived experience of being unhoused or housing/food
insecure.
